Treatment options for Ankle instability are going to initially involve conservative treatment
- Ice
- NSAID's
- Physical therapy
- Braces
- Taping

- Surgery is the last resort and is never indicated unless individuals can not perform normal daily activities

- Competitive athletes must fail to perform activities while either taped, braced or both

Surgical options should only be considered when conservative options have failed

Ankle instability may only be one component of the problem
